School of Science and Technology - Admission Requirement

DEPARTMENT OF MULTI MEDIA TECHNOLOGY

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Entry Requirements: Applicants with any of the following may be considered for admission into the National Diploma Programme in Multimedia Technology: Five credit/merit “O” level passes at not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE//NTC/NBC subjects including credit passes in English, Mathematics, any basic science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and any two others from: Computer Studies, Information and Communication Technology, Data Processing, Graphic Design, Photography, Technical Drawing, Visual Art, Music, Picture Making, Business Management, Printing Craft Practice, Radio, Television and Electronics Work Practice, Economics/Commerce, Applied Electricity, GSM Phones Maintenance and Repairs, Basic Electronics, Civic Education., any other academic qualification acceptable to NBTE.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

ND COMPUTER SCIENCE

The entry requirements into National Diploma in Computer Science programme are as follows;

  1. Five credit level passes in GCE “O” Level, Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), NECO and NABTEB at not more than two sittings. The five subjects include;
  2. English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other subjects chosen from the following
  3. Economics , Geography
  • Further mathematics, Physics Chemistry
  1. Biology/Agric Science
  2. Computer science
  3. And relevant NTC/NBC and NVC Trades
  • Plus JAMB examination as resolved by National Policy on Education
  1. A pass in Computer Foundation Examination(CFE) of Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria(CPN). The Student must be prima Fascia qualified as in (a) above.

DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY

At least an applicant will be requested to obtained five O’levelpasses in English Language, mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology Science for ND Programme.

A lower credit passes in National Diploma (ND) in Science Laboratory Technology and a minimum of twelve months of supervised industrial experience is required for HND programme. In exceptional cases, ND Diploma with a pass (CGPA of 2.00 -2.49) grade but with two or more years of cognate working experience in the specific field is required to qualify for HND admission

DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS

(A) NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND)

Entry Requirements:

Applicants with any of the following qualifications maybe considered for admission into the National Diploma programme by direct entry:

Four credits level passes in West African School Certificate, Senior Secondary School Certificate or General Certificate of Education(GCE) Ordinary level and National Examination Council(NECO), TCII, NIC, in not more than two sittings. The subject must include mathematics and any three of the following: Statistics, Geography, further mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics. At least, Pass in English language is compulsory. Candidates who have successfully completed the board recognized pre-National Diploma(Science and Technology) Course. Such Students must have passed Mathematics, English Language and any two subjects listed above.

(B) HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA

In addition to the ND requirements, lower credit passes in National Diploma (ND) and minimum of twelve months of supervised industrial experience is required
